Confeego
Confeego is a suite of new tools developed by Space Syntax Limited for use in its research and consulting projects. It runs on PCs inside the MapInfo Professional GIS (Geographic Information System) environment, version 6.5 or higher.
The current release of Confeego facilitates three analytical tasks: calculating point depth, calculating integration and associated measures, and graphically exploring relationships between spatial maps and associated statistical plots with the JMP statistical package.
Point depth and integration can be calculated on maps of any type of intersecting spatial object, such as axial lines or convex polygons: Confeego can thus be used to generate the output data not only of Axman or Ovation but also of Pesh. In addition, integration can be calculated for the junctions where line objects intersect (as in axial maps). There are no built-in limits to the number of objects that can be processed in each map, although performance will vary according to map size and computer system specification.
Exploring spatial-statistical relationships with Confeego requires the use of JMP statistical software but allows users to recreate the Axman experience of selecting an object on a map and then finding its associated data point in a scatterplot. However, users have more flexibility with Confeego in exploring spatial-statistical relationships, as it allows users to select any object capable of being represented in MapInfo and finding it in any type of graph or plot capable of being generated in JMP.
